Welcome to the South Ribble Ramblers group. South Ribble is a District between Preston and Chorley in Lancashire, based on the town of Leyland.
We provide walks every Thursday and occasional other days. Walks are typically 5-8 miles and usually within the South Ribble area or nearby. Walks are mostly easy or moderate and typically start at 1pm though some longer walks may start earlier. We can’t say for sure how long a walk will last, but around three hours would be typical.
The area is largely flat farmland so many of the walks are classified as easy, some include the smaller hills in the area and are classed as moderate. Paths are commonly country paths so good footwear is always appropriate as is sensible outdoor clothing, All our walks will include a break for refreshments or lunch if longer walk.
