Overview

We meet in Mill Street Ashwell opposite the church SG7 5LY . We walk through the village taking the path across Newnham Hill before taking the path to Caldecote turning right at the church taking the cross field path to Hinxworth Place, the former home of the Late John Mills the renowned sculptor. We then continue the path in the direction of a large pig farm before turning left in the direction of Arbury Banks an Iron Age Hillfort. We return to Ashwell via the High Street for refreshments at the Rose & Crown public house. If the weather is good lots of great views. If the weather is wet we have a couple of footpaths across potential very muddy fields, so boots are a must.
