From Norbury Village Hall the walk takes us through the stone built village of Norbury notable for its church which features an unusual painted ceiling and a Norman style tower with a broach spire. We will then skirt the grounds of the 18th Century Grade 2 listed Linley Hall, until we join the Shropshire Way as it winds up through the famed avenue of the Linley Beeches planted by local MP Robert More about 1740. A steady climb takes us towards the southerly reaches of The Stiperstones ridge towering in bleak and rocky splendour above us, and then we cross remote open moorland before descending back towards Norbury and the start point. The iconic trees should be starting to reveal their glorious autumn colours by then and weather permitting we will get some spectacular views of the forgotten land between The Stones and The Mynd.
