We are the Newark Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
Join us on this undulating ,circular walk through Bestwood Country Park down to Mill Lakes and back. Starting from the main car park we walk mostly on cinder paths through woodland past the former hunting lodge ( now hotel), down to Alexandra Lodge and then the old Bestwood Winding House. From here we join part of the Robin Hood way to go onto Mill Lakes where we will have our coffee break. The walk back takes us along a former railway track and then there is a steep climb back into the country park. This opens up to give some excellent views of north Notts. before we return to the hotel gardens for our picnic lunch.
Please be advised that there are a few steep ascents and descents on this walk but we shall take them steadily. This is a popular area for dog walkers.

Please meet in the main free car park off Bestwood Lodge Drive. Do NOT go to the other car park in Bestwood village near the winding house.
