Welcome to Newark Ramblers. We are a group within the Nottinghamshire Area of the Ramblers Association. Our membership is still growing – we currently have around 160 members, many of whom have joined us recently. We are from differing backgrounds and come from a wide area around Newark.
Our location enables us to walk in Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire, and Leicestershire without travelling too far. The walks are mostly at a leisurely pace, within 20 miles of Newark. We have two walks of differing lengths on a Wednesday, usually 6 and 8 miles and one walk on Sundays of about 6-8 miles.
We are now running more than 150 walks a year so you are sure to find something to please you. You can come every week or just when the mood takes you.
Don’t be shy! We are a very friendly group, and a warm welcome is guaranteed. You can try us out before joining!
On foot you will discover new places, see the changing seasons, and enjoy friendly company. We get fresh air, exercise, and interesting conversation.
Sometimes we have a day trip to walk further afield, and we also organise walking breaks to other areas of the country. Apart from walking, the group has a very active programme of social events including theatre trips, ceilidhs, and quizzes.
