From the Bestwood Lodge Drive car park we head for Goosedale via Killarney Park, then on a disused railway track to Mill Lakes. Our return to the car park takes us past the headstock and winding house.
The route explores the many habitats within the park including heath, woodland, grassland, wetland, and gardens and also takes in the park's iconic landmark, the surviving headstock and winding house which has been retained to commemorate the time when the site was home to Bestwood Colliery.
There will be the usual stops for refreshment and lunch.
Please register for this walk on Newark Ramblers website where you will also find details of our car share scheme.
