Overview

This is a shorter walk than usual, but has the option of a drink & cake at the end of the walk. We will meet in Llandygai, take the bus to Bethesda & then walk back: following paths over moorland, passing an interesting quarry, then onto the Slate Trail along rivers through woodland with a variety of terrain.

Park cars & be ready to walk to bus stop at 1000 (with bus pass if applicable) bus leaves 1016

Walk Bethesda to Llandygai: 11.25km (7miles) ascent 330m (1080ft) descent 425m (1,400ft) time estimate: 4½ hrs

There are public toilets in Bethesda.

Free parking in a quiet road (“no name-sign” on the road) in Llandygai Directions to parking in a quiet road Take the A5 south from Bangor, at the Penrhyn Castle roundabout, take 1st left, then 1st right into “no name-sign” road (sign to Rugby Ground) park on right in “no name-sign” road, as close to the Penrhyn Castle end as possible, where we will meet.
