Overview

Join us for a walk into the Mosstrooper country!

The route heads north up the scenic Haltwhistle Burn towards Cawfields on Hadrian's Wall. We continue north of the Wall through fields and along quiet country lanes to Longsike Farm. Turning south, we have a lovely gradual ascent across Melkridge Common with far reaching views towards Mosstrooper country in the West, North and East. Upon reaching the Wall we turn west onto three national trails,  Hadrian's Wall, the Pennine Way and the Pennine Journey and descend down Haltwhistle Burn.

There will be over 1,000 feet of ascent and the terrain can be boggy and tussocky in places so walking poles are advised.
