Explore the wonderful Northumberland countryside with us
Enjoy the views, fun, exhilaration and good company. We're a friendly group and love making new friends. Why not give us a try?
When?
Every Sunday and often midweek as well. Walks usually start at 10.15am.
Where?
The inspiring landscapes on our doorstep - Hadrian's Wall, the Tyne Valley, Hexhamshire and the North Pennines area of outstanding natural beauty. Sometimes we go further, exploring the Cheviots, the Northumberland coast and the Lake District.
We offer
-
Short easy walks of 5/6 miles at a leisurely pace for those who like to savour the country air.
-
Moderate walks of 7-9 miles - more demanding and typically involving some gradients.
-
Longer walks of over 10 miles at a brisker pace over rougher, hillier terrain.
And wherever possible, a chance to relax afterwards over tea and cake - or something stronger.
Be our guest!
If you're not already a member, you're very welcome to join us for three walks free of charge as our guest. See below for details of our next walks and book your place with the walk leader. We hope you'll soon feel inspired to take out Ramblers membership!
The benefits of joining
Your membership gives you the opportunity to enjoy our walks programme and take part in our social events, including our annual weekend away. It is your chance to support the essential work of ensuring that the countryside and its rights of way are, and remain, open to all.
A word about dogs
We love dogs, but because there is so much livestock in the countryside that we visit, we regret that we can allow only registered assistance dogs on our walks.
