The Blue Door Walk is a lovely riverside walk through an impressive gorge, with stunning views up the Angus Glens, and includes the famous Blue Door, which we will go through to enter the grounds of the 18th Century Burn House along the way.
We'll follow the route in the link below, which should take us around 3 hours at most, over the 10.5km circuit.

Start Point Grid Ref NO599691
The meeting point is at the car park at the North end of Edzell Main Street. The exact meeting point is described further in the Walkhighlands link above, which also includes a link to Google Maps.
We will depart from the start point at 10am, therefore please aim to arrive a little earlier, to ensure we are able to set off on time. At the end of the walk, we can stop in past one of the local cafes for a snack/lunch for those who would like to.
I would encourage attendees to car share where possible, and share the costs of fuel and any parking. I have space to take 3 others, for pickup in the West End of Aberdeen (Rubislaw Place @ 8:50am). If you would like a spot, just send me a message or comment below.
Easy to moderate: This walk is on a mix of woodland paths, with some steep drops to the river, and a short section of rougher paths. Given the time of year, it is important to bring warm clothes (several thinner layers are better than one thick layer!), including gloves, scarf/buff and hat, as well as waterproofs, waterproof walking shoes, snacks and water. Please do not wear jeans, as they are unsuitable, particularly in wet/cold weather. If you have any queries, please reach out to me in advance.
We will continue to register attendance using the Ramblers App. If you are a Ramblers member, it would be helpful if you could either bring your membership card along, or download and login to the Ramblers app. If you are not a Ramblers member, I will ask for your name, postcode and e-mail at the start, for submission of the register to the Ramblers.
Important: If this is your fourth or more walk with AYW then you need to have Ramblers membership:
