Greetings Hikers!
I am here to bring you a nice wee walk on a Sunday morning that is not too far from Aberdeen and we will likely complete in about 3 hours. We will be following the path called Elsick Mounth which is an ancient trackway crossing the Grampian Mountains. The walk will be part forest part plains mostly following a dirt road all the way to the Lang Stane of Auquholli.
We will meet up at 10am at the Bruntyairds Woods Carpark and after completing the register and enduring my pep talk we will start the walk. The distance is 11km and the elevation will gain will be 420m so the walk is not be completely flat. I still advise good hiking waterproof hiking shoes as the path can get a bit puddly and some waterproofs just in case but I hope for good weather. Bring some food and water with you as we will stop for lunch.
If you need a lift let people know in the comments somebody will happily give you a ride to and from.
We are dog friendly but please let us know beforehand when taking your pet.
We will continue to register attendance using the Ramblers App. If you are a Ramblers member, it would be really helpful if you could either bring your membership card along, or download and login to the Ramblers app. If you are not a Ramblers member, I will ask for your name and contact number/e-mail at the start. ***If this is your fourth or more walk with AYW then you need to have Ramblers membership: http://www.ramblers.org.uk/become-a-member.aspx
Any questions please feel free to get in touch with me.
Looking Forward to seeing you there!
Stay Awesome :)
