Linear walk starting by number 11 bus from the Borough Arms Bodmin, to Bodmin Parkway Railway Station. The walk back takes in the old railway warehouses, through unspoilt farmland to Respryn, and up through estates woodlands to Lanhydrock, where we will have a coffee stop. The walk then takes footpaths over a the A30 footbridge to Bodmin Beacon with its panoramic views, and a lunch stop along the way. On leaving the Beacon, we go via pavements to the Camel Trail, returning to the car park.
The walk is mainly on footpaths, with hills from Respryn to Lanhydrock. It is moderate eight miles, and will take approximately eight hours. Please bring money for the bus (£2 at the time of practice walk) and afterwards if staying. Bring boots, food, water. Start 10.15 SHARP.
