This walk starts and finishes at East Leake car park on Gotham Road. The route takes in field paths, lanes and trails where on high ground there are excellent views of the surrounding countryside. There is no walking along main roads without footways. There are two main ascents both gradual one near the start and the other towards the end. The route crosses the A60 on two occasions where care is needed when crossing. We go along Ash Lane and through Bunny Woods using the bridleway which can be muddy. The lunch stop will be in Bunny likely in the church grounds. The return route follows Fairham Brook then trails to Welldale Farm where we cross Gotham Lane with care. The last leg includes the ascent along Lantern Lane and using the Sheep Plank Lane Byway eventually finishing back at the car park.

The start point is accessible by public transport via NCT number 1 bus which leaves Beastmarket Hill, Market Square at 9am and arrives at East Leake shops at 09:38am.
Please bring a packed lunch.
