Walking in and around Rushcliffe

We are the largest group in Nottinghamshire, based south of the city. We enjoy walks every weekend, usually on a Sunday, of around 8 – 10 miles, with occasional midweek walks of 5 - 6 miles normally ending up at a pub for lunch. We also offer shorter walks as part of the Walking for Heath programme in association with a local medical practice. We organise walks in Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and Derbyshire including the Peak District.

Our walking community

We are a very friendly and sociable group, organising regular events such as skittles evenings and quiz nights. Walks often attract 15 to 20 walkers but new walkers will always be welcomed at the start by the Walk Leader and the rest of the group.

Twice a year we go away for a walking weekend, in Spring and Autumn, and organise a week’s walking holiday each summer.

Everyone is very welcome to join us on our walks and is assured of a warm welcome.

Campaign with us - protect the places we walk

Walking is a simple pleasure that should be open to everyone, so we campaign to remove barriers to walking and we protect the places we love to wander.
