We are the Southwold (Yate) Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
We will head out of Box towards Box Hill and then on to the village of Slaughterford via the Macmillan Way. We will have a lunch break just outside Slaughterford. The route then follows some tracks and lanes, eventually re-joining the Macmillan Way. Our return to Box is along the banks of the By Brook.
The walk mainly follows footpaths but there is also some lane walking. There are some climbs and some fine views are to be expected. The final section is quite flat.
There are not many stiles - maybe one or two.
Please bring food and drink for our breaks en route.
Following the pre-walk I have made some changes to the original walk. We will no longer go near to Colerne and walk is about 0.5 miles shorter.
