Start Brookside lay-by Wildboarclough SK11 0BB
Large lay-by south of Wildboarclough village

8.5miles moderate walk with 1800 ft ascent ECR planner
Along Clough road over Clough brook, climb uphill to A 54 cross over
Along track to Goosetree, coffee stop, footbridge over river Dane into woods back over river. Up to and through Lud’s church up to ridge and along to Hanging stone. ( footpath no 27 is closed here for 3 months whilst essential work is done on trees because of disease)
So we go down into Danebridge by an alternate route on minor road. Over river Dane take footpath on right and climb uphill, over footbridge to
Bartomley farm, uphill to Hammerton farm, Wild boar inn, cross A 54
Hammerton knoll farm cross Clough brook again and back to cars. Quite a few ups and downs but we are rewarded with some beautiful views.
