The start is located some seven miles northeast of Stoke. Very much satnav territory if you're so equipped. Otherwise the route below is the most straightforward although there are other options if you're familiar with the roads.

From your home location pick up either the M6 northbound to Junction 15, then the A500 direction Stoke and Newcastle, for 1.25 miles to the A500/A34 interchange where continue along the A500, or from Hednesford and Rugeley via the A460, A51, and A34 to reach Trentham and the above mentioned Hanford Interchange where right hand lane for the A500, direction Stoke-on-Trent city centre.

Once on the A500 drive on for 3.5 miles until the A53 flyover where exit slip and right hand lane, direction Leek. Proceed on the A53 without deviation for 3.3 miles to Milford where turn left at the lights just over the top of the hill into Norton Lane, signed beforehand for Norton. After 0.85 mile turn right at more lights, onto the B5051 direction Endon.

Continue for 1.5 miles to Brown Edge. Pass The Bush at Brown Edge pub on you left then 100 yards later turn left into Sandy Lane and follow the course of the road into Hough Hill. Proceed for 0.7 mile and turn left, signed for Kynpersley, into Hill Top passing The Top Pub on your left just after the junction.

Follow the road for a further 250 yards and turn right at the summit (photo) onto the narrow drive up to the car park 150 yards later. ⚠️Be prepared to block park to leave room for others at this local view point. Thank you.
