Circular walk of 11 miles from Rothesay. We will pass a couple of Lochs (Osprey possible) and picnic by the seashore. Great views of the Firth of Clyde and Arran. Walking is on good paths and roads. Boots are not required except after wet weather but a couple of fields have cows or sheep and long grass. In the woodland, the vegetation will be at its highest. Poles not needed. Although not strenuous, there are some sharp ascents but they are soon over.
Meeting point will be Morrissons at Stevenston for an 07:50 departure to catch the 09:05 ferry at Wemyss Bay. On the return, we will be aiming for the 16:00 ferry.
There is a bit of road walking, cows and sheep to pass but midges might be bigger nuisance.
At the end we might have time for a cafe stop or have something on the ferry.
The car park at the Wemyss Bay Station (entrance beyond the car dealership) costs £3 for the day.
