Overview

Starting from the roadside by the entrance to Poole’s Cavern (toilets) we ascend Buxton Country Park for views from Solomon’s Temple. We descend via Grinlow Park (toilets not working on recce 22/4) to head South past Stanely Moor Reservoir (disused) and around Buxton Raceway and Staker hill. We descend to follow old railway tracks and fields past the bookshop at Brierlow Bar. Crossing the busy road, we follow Back Dale and Deep Dale before a steep climb along the Mid-Shires Way. We walk down Kidtor Dale and up Cow Dale and then Westwards via Staden before rejoining the Country Park and back to the cars.
