Cadair Idris - ascent from the North, descent to the South.

Using the new Fflecsi bus service this walk allows a linear route from the N side to the S.  From Minffordd Snowdonia Nat C P (fee payable) we catch either the 0840 G24 or 0842 T2 bus to Dolgellau.  From there a prebooked Fflecsi service will take us to Ty Nant which is the start point for the Pony Path which ascends to the prominent ridge seen from the valley below. On an easier gradient the route then takes us to the top at Penygadair 2927'.  The descent will be either down the well trodden Minffordd path or via the path which goes E along the plateau from Penygadair & then descends below Mynydd Moel.  The paths both meet about 30mins above the car park & descends steeply alongside various waterfalls through deciduous woodland. Walking poles are advisable for the descent.  YOU MUST CONTACT LEADER IF GOING.
