This walk will start in Morrison's car park and go under the road into Caird Park. We will walk towards Mains Castle which was built in the 15th Century home of the Claverhouse family now a fabulous venue for Weddings. Easily noticed by the six floor tower overlooking the dichty burn we continue to Trottick Mill ponds.
The ponds were created to provide water for Claverhouse Bleach Works and the large meadow was used to dry the huge sheets of material.
Now this area is frequented by walkers for some peaceful recreation as there is resident swans, dippers, Heron, squirrels, and at night you can see bats putting on flying display.
Continuing on towards Baldovan House although no evidence left of this building remains, further information will be given on the walk. The walk continues around Barns of Claverhouse walking down the side of the Forfar Road dual carriageway and over the flyover returning to Morrisons.
As we go through the woods there may be tree roots and branches to be careful of, there was some mud but this can change with weather conditions. Although no ascents to worry about walkers may wish to bring walking poles for stability.
