A seven mile afternoon walk from Victoria Park in Calverley to Apperley Bridge and back. This undulating route features woodland, bluebells (hopefully), fields, leafy lanes, riverside and old tracks along with a little bit of urban walking between the green areas.
There are a couple of fairly steep descents on rocky ground. Sturdy footwear is recommended.
Please have your lunch before the walk. If you are interested in going for a pub meal after the walk see further information below.
Meet by the war memorial at the main entrance to Victoria Park at 1.45pm, to start the walk at 2pm.
Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times please.
Arriving By Bus - The meeting point is on the 60 Airedale route.
Arriving By Car - Parking on the main road near the war memorial is not recommended as it’s a busy road and cars are often damaged by passing traffic. Street parking is usually available on Victoria Street at the back of the park and the surrounding area. From there it’s a ten minute walk to the meeting point. Please park responsibly and allow yourself plenty of time to find a suitable parking spot.
There are no toilets at the meeting point.
Meal after the walk: A reservation has been made at The Thornhill. There are 20 places.
Update 22/04/25: Meal is fully booked. If you want to add your name to the reserve list please contact the walk leader.
Please note, booking is not required to attend the walk. See you there!
