Welcome to Capital Walkers, the friendly London Ramblers group for people aged 40+. We walk every weekend and usually at least once during the week.
Join me for the Canary Wharf Winter Lights festival. This captivating trail will guide you through 12 stunning temporary installations alongside permanent light artworks. Featuring some of the world's most innovative light artists, the festival delves into the transformative power of art and light, with captivating elements like portals, black holes, and mirages.
Journey from a towering stack of bathtubs pulsating with light and sound, to Westferry Circus where a hypnotic tornado of lights swirls around a pylon. Immerse yourself in panels of sari fabric and glowing threads at Wren Landing, marvel at an iridescent mirage at Montgomery Square, witness a bird in flight, and step through a portal in Wood Wharf. Don’t miss the newly opened Eden Dock, where a 20-meter-wide sinkhole encircled by light will leave you in awe.
We’ll wrap up our ramble with a pub social at Wetherspoons, Leger Building, West India Quay, 4 Hertsmere Road, London E14 4AL.

Canary Wharf Underground Station Meet outside Greggs in the ticket hall of Canary Wharf Underground station (Jubilee Line) . If exiting from Jubilee Line - follow signs for Elizabeth Line/ DLR and Greggs is on your right after you exit the ticket barriers. Otherwise you will need to come down the escalators to the ticket hall level - as this will be out of the cold and possible rain.
