Walking in and around London

If you want to keep fit, make friends, and escape the city into the lovely countryside around London, or you want to explore the capital's historic streetscapes and parks, then Capital Walkers is for you.

The group is aimed at people living in London aged 40+, but everyone is welcome whatever their age.  You don't need to be a Ramblers member to try us out, and most walks have at least one new person on them. Pick a walk from our website and just turn up with your boots on, lunch in your rucksack and a waterproof coat in case it rains – there is no need to book.

We think you’ll find us a friendly bunch. After 3 trial walks, if you find that you like walking with us, then all we ask you to do is join the Ramblers.

Our walks

We have an exciting programme of walks, normally at least one every Saturday and Sunday, both urban and rural, and also occasional weekday and evening walks. Walks are of different lengths and paces so there's something for everyone.

All walks are accessible by public transport from Central London, so you don’t need a car, and there is often the opportunity for a visit to the pub or a café, either during or at the end of the walk. You will find our next walks detailed on this page, but for a fuller idea of our programme please see our website.
