We are the Manchester Coach Rambles Group. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
Coach starts from Chorlton Street at 8.50am prompt, pick up in Sedgeley Park at 09.15am, then in Prestwich at 09.20am.
Three walks -
Walk 1(B). Strenuous. 12.5 miles. Leader Kate.
Linear: Tower Cottage, Deffer Wood and Hill (735 ft), Cliffe Wood Park, Kaye’s Millennium Green, Yorkshire Sculpture Park, High Hoyland, Cawthorne. Total ascent 1181ft.
Walk 2(C). Moderate. 9.75 miles. Leader Brian.
Linear: The Rowlands, Barnsley Boundary Walk, Margery Wood (521ft) rear of Cannon Hall Farm, Deffer Wood, Denby Hall Farm (721ft), Jowett House, Cannon Hall, Cawthorne Total ascent 800ft.
Walk 3(D). Moderate to easy. 7 miles. Leader Ian
Linear: High Hoyland (711ft), Long Side, Barnsley Boundary Walk, Cawthorne. Total ascent 750ft.
Coach will leave Cawthorne at 6 p.m.
The ground may be muddy so please wear suitable footwear. Please bring a change of shoes, boot covers or something to clean your boots before getting back on the coach.
