Overview

This circular walk of around 8 miles takes us from the old original Annanhill Golf Club House down through woodland and into the Grange Estate then through the Mount and into Caprington Estate. A coffee stop can be taken on entering Caprington. We then head toward Caprington Golf Club which leads to the picturesque village of Earlston and back into Caprington Estate passing Caprington Castle where we will stop for lunch. We then head back up through Caprington and back through the Grange and return to the cars.

As this walk is a local Kilmarnock walk everyone meet at the old/original  Annanhill Golf Course Club House turn left at the first entrance to Annanhill park where there is car parking available. As it is a Saturday there will possibly be lots of golfers at the clubhouse and I'd rather not subject the golfers to unnecessary cars. Please do not park at the new golf club house which is opposite the Fardlehill Housing Development.  Meet at 9.30 and hoping to start the walk at 09.45.

This is a walk that poles may be preferred by some especially at the time of year.  Sensible walking footwear recommended .

Features

  • Accessible by public transport
