Overview

A moderate walk through the Ceiriog Forest on forest roads and along North Berwyn Way to Vivod Mountain and back to the start on footpaths and quiet lanes. One steep ascent of 0.4 miles to the mountain top for lunch followed by long steady descent with a few stiles. Excellent views to the Dee Valley on one side and the Ceriog valley the other. At this time of year we should hear the Cuckoos and see the grouse, Parking limited, car sharing requested where possible.

There will be an additional meeting point for car sharing at 9.30 Station Road Chirk.

If you take the route to the start from Chirk Castle along the ridge you will be rewarded with excellent views. The road has many potholes but is fairly straight.
