The walk, staring from Baslow, explores the Chatsworth Estate above the house, and then follows a concessionary path over the moors, visiting a prehistoric tumulus. Passing the Robin Hood Inn, we rise back onto the edges to visit Nelson's and Wellington's Monuments to enjoy the views, before returning to Baslow.
Mostly on good firm paths or tarmac, with short steep sections and short boggy stretches. There is a 600 m stretch of sketchy and overgrown path. Because of the deer and bracken, long trousers (or a careful check of bare limbs in the evening for ticks) are recommended.
