Overview

The walk begins at the car park next to the amateur rowing club within Chester le street riverside park.

Follow the signs for riverside walks. The rowing club is next to the Durham County football association building.

The car parking charge is £2.00 for 4 hours.

There are no toilets at the beginning of the walk but there are toilets on route.

The walking route is just over 5 miles, quite flat and follows mostly paths through Chester le street riverside park however there are parts of the route within Lumley woods. The paths in the wooded area will likely be quite muddy therefore gaiters and walking sticks are recommended.

The walk is leisurely with no stiles.
