A lovely leisurely 6 mile walk which is slightly different than usual. The first half of the walk will see us walking the one and a half mile City Walls walk, taking in a quick walk around the Bishops Palace gardens. We then have a 10 minute walk through a quiet residential area until we exit the City, crossing open fields and returning along the Chichester canal towpath.
It's very flat, has no stiles and most of the walk will be on man made surfaces. Just one shortish stretch where we might encounter a little mud... nothing to be concerned about.
This walk is accessible by train - we are meeting at the train station - and by any of the buses serving Chichester. The bus terminal is immediately opposite the railway station.
Bring a snack / picnic. We will have one 15 min break half way through.
Coffee and cake can be enjoyed in the Richmond Pub which is located immediately next to the end of the canal at the end of the walk.
