A scenic and hilly Easter Saturday walk of 13.5 miles through a section of the Chiltern Hills east of Ewelme. We will be passing through the Swyncombe Downs, Russell's Water, Cookley Green, Christmas Common and Watlington Park. There will be plenty of woodland as well fine views over open fields and over Watlington. Hopefully, the bluebells will be out on display. We'll stop for lunch somewhere around halfway, and a stop at the pub either at the Fox and Hounds at Christmas Common or the Shepherd's Hut in Ewelme.
Start point - meet at the (fairly small) free car park next to Cow Common and the recreation ground in Ewelme - 51.657N, 1.0650W and What3Words ///status.hazy.grownup. You can either park in the car park just mentioned or if that is full, considerately in the village - though the roads are quite narrow.
Dogs - You are welcome to bring dogs with you, but you are responsible for them and please be considerate of other walkers.
Please wear suitable clothing, depending on the weather, and walking boots. Bring a drink and a packed lunch, and suncream lotion. This could be a challenging walk given the distance and hills.
Please try to arrive around 10:20am at the latest, so we can be ready to start walking at 10:30am.
