Overview

 

A mid week walk for a day out by the Sea. Hopefully we will avoid some of the crowds. Walk through the town and Abbey to the river side to Wick Ferry. (£1.50). Walk through the marshes to Cafe below Hengistbury Head. Across grass to the sea and then walk to the view point by Coast Guard station, continue along to Hengistbury Head. Drop down to the Dunes and the most expensive Beach huts in the country. Where we will stop for lunch. Take the Ferry to Mudeford (£3.50) Possible Pub Stop?? Then walk through Mudeford then if the tide is right we will try to walk on to Stanpit and Grimsbury Marsh Nature reserve. Then return to the car park.

Meet to car share / convoy at the car park adjacent to the Salto Centre, Charlton, SP10 4AJ (behind Tesco Metro). If you intend to go directly to the start point then inform the walk leader before hand in case of cancellation etc.
