Join us for a 12 mile hike around the perimeter of Winchester, to explore the usually unseen nooks and crannies of our great city.
The walk includes a long stretch of the famous Clarendon Way, and we will stop for a picnic lunch where this enters the outskirts of Winchester, to enjoy far-reaching views across the City. There are also riverside stretches to enjoy.
There will be a mixture of urban pavements and rural paths. As Winchester is on the South Downs, we can't avoid the hills, but climbs will be long and steady rather than short and sharp.
This is a picnic walk, so please bring drinks, snacks and lunch with you.
Toilet facilities are few and far between on this walk.
The route we are following was devised by Rambler Member Barbara Anderson as a project during the 2020 pandemic restrictions.
