An attractive and, in parts, gently undulating 10.5 mile route starting at Lamarsh village hall, passing through Alphamstone and then onto Mount Bures. From here the route goes on to the Wormingford Firs, giving a fine view over the Stour Valley. We will then return along the Stour Valley Path through Bures St Mary back to Lamarsh.
The ground is drying out and much of the walk will be on a good surface. There will be muddy stretches, however, and a couple of arable fields to cross.
Bring a packed lunch, drinks, etc. There will be an opportunity for a pub stop near the end of the walk in Bures or Lamarsh, if desired.
Safe off-road parking at Lamarsh village hall CO8 5EU - £2 per car suggested donation for hall restoration funds, please. Toilets available at the hall at the start and end of the walk.
You don’t need to book in advance to join our walks, just make sure you arrive in good time and introduce yourself to the group.
