Please park considerately around Grafton Underwood village and meet outside the Pig & Waffle pub, ready to start walking promptly at 10.30am.
In the morning we will head South East from Grafton Underwood across fields towards the village of Twywell, before turning West and walking through the Twywell Hills and Dales Nature Reserve to reach our lunch stop at Cranford St John.
We will have our lunch either in the Nature Reserve or in Cranford St John village, before heading to the Red Lion in Cranford St John for a quick drink at the pub. There probably won’t be time to buy food from the pub, so please bring a packed lunch with you.
In the afternoon we will start out from the pub and again walk along footpaths and bridleways to reach the outskirts of Warkton, before heading back to Grafton Underwood.
The walk is around 10.5 miles long, almost evenly split between morning and afternoon.
Everyone is welcome, whether you’re an established member of the group or haven’t walked with us before. New Members are welcome to join us. Note the walk is a mix of tracks and footpaths and may potentially be muddy in places. Please wear appropriate clothing for walking in the country, and walking boots.
Well-behaved dogs are welcome, though please note there may be stiles, livestock and other dogs on the walk. Any dog owners are fully responsible for their dog. More information is available on the Ramblers website https://www.ramblers.org.uk/advice/safety/dog-walkers.aspx
