On Saturday 1st June we'll be doing a circular walk from Piddington to Salcey Forest. We'll be starting at The Spread Eagle pub in Piddington and walking across fields and meadows into Salcey Forest. Through the forest we shall be walking on established paths and breathing in those beneficial phytoncides. We shall be stopping briefly at Grounds Cafe in the forest and then, refreshed and brimming with well-being, make our way back to Piddington.
Expect to see some great views walking across the fields into the forest. Salcey Forest is a magnificent woodland and medieval royal hunting forest with ancient wood banks and trees. There are several 'druids' in the forest, these are rare veteran oaks that have stood for centuries. Walking in a forest enhances your immune system, reduces stress levels and promotes well-being.
There is on road parking in Piddington, or park in the Spread Eagle car park if you're planning to stay for a meal or drink after the walk.
