This walk starts at the Lions in Market Square and goes past Nottingham Castle then up through the Park. We walk down through the Nottingham General Cemetery established 1836, carrying on to the Arboretum. There is a trek through town then on to Sneinton and Green's Windmill which is open on Sundays, seeing interesting places on the way. We come back via the Avenues, which originally housed Sneinton Market but is now called the Artisan Quarter. Because the walk is on a Sunday, some of the Avenue shops will be closed. The walk has some steep sections and a few steep steps down into the cemetery. There are also steps up to the windmill.
We will have a drinks break at the Arboretum and lunch near the Windmill. There are toilets at Victoria Centre half way round, and also at the Windmill. Please bring a packed lunch. We return to Market Square at the end of the walk.
If you would like to join this walk please contact the Leader using the email link. Maximum number of walkers is 20.
Walking shoes will be good enough as it is not a muddy walk. If you know some of the history of the places we walk through, you are welcome to chip in. Dogs need to be on a lead, and I will be glad if you will let me know if you are bringing a dog.
