Overview

A 7-mile circular walk starting from Cornmeadow Lane near Claines parish church, and the Mug House (which has toilet facilities). We will cross the Ombersley Road to join up with the Northwick Manor Heritage Trail which we will follow along the River Severn and the fish pass on our way to Hawford Lock, where we will join the Droitwich Barge Canal. When we get to Porters Mill we will pick up the Monarch's Way and head to Lower town and back across the fields to the Mug House. The walk will be a mixture of cross field, solid pathways, bridal paths and some quiet lanes. Some parts will be muddy, and good walking boots are required. Some people might like to use walking poles. The walk is mainly quite flat, but there are a couple of short ascents, and 2 stiles to cross.

We will stop around half way for a coffee break/snack, but will not be stopping for a picnic given the season, and potential for less than ideal weather. The Mug House at the end of the walk serves basic food and sandwiches, as well as liquid refreshments, and attendees may like to stop for a drink/bite to eat after the walk.
