We may encounter some mud on the way but we’ll also use some of the Active Travel Paths through the country park.
We’ll start with a descent through Clyne Gardens to Blackpill. Using the ‘Roman Bridge’, (more likely a much later but still historic structure) to cross the Clyne River, we’ll follow the old tramroad into Clyne Country Park.
We’ll then follow Active Travel Paths and old woodland tracks through the country park.
Ascending from the old railway track that forms the spine path of the park, we’ll make our way past Keeper’s Cottage.
This woodland track will lead us back towards our start at St. Catwg Walk from where we can drive down to the Woodman to celebrate Peter’s Birthday.
Social after walk:
Afterwards, we will go for refreshments to The Woodman Inn.
Directions:
From Mumbles Road at Blackpill, ascend Mayals Road.
Turn right into Westport Avenue.
Use on-street parking on Westport Avenue.
(Do not park in St Catwg Walk – keep road clear for emergency vehicles).
