There is a limit of 15 people for this walk and booking is essential. Please email after 7 December to book.
Mange Tout is a sandwich bar and cafe, with toilets nearby. After coffee we have an optional walk, alongside Greenland Dock then continuing on woodland paths and through an ecology park. There are bus stops after ½ mile, 1 mile and 1¼ miles, for 381 and C10 buses to Canada Water, Rotherhithe and other stations.
We continue along Nelson Walk and follow the Thames Path to Surrey Docks Farm, where there are toilets. After a brief visit, we continue along the riverside, reaching Greenland Dock again after 2 miles. It's possible to drop-out here and walk ¾ mile back to Surrey Quays Station.
The walk continues along the river and diverts through some small parks. Another drop-out point is after 3 miles (for 47, 188 and 199 buses to several stations). The walk finishes at Maritime Greenwich, where there is a possibility of tea. We can catch the DLR at Cutty Sark Station.
This walk is in Oyster Zone 2
The paths usually have good surfaces, though wet weather could cause patches of mud in the woods, so walking boots or shoes are recommended.
Bring a packed lunch if you plan to walk beyond Nelson Walk.
