Overview

Coach starts at Prestwich at 08.20, picks up in Sedgeley Park 08.25, then Chorlton St at 08.50, Stretford 09.10, Sale 09.20, Altrincham 09.30.

Three walks:

Long walk / very strenuous. 11 miles, over 2600 ft ascent, 6 hours Leader: Mary H

Linear from Ty'n y Groes (jct of B5106 & B5279) via fields and some road to Maen y Bardd, Cae Coch, Tal y Fan, Maen Amor, Llyn y Wrach, Bwlch Sychnant, Mynydd y Dref, Conwy. Some rocky paths, one narrow path with extremely steep drop to one side which requires a reasonable head for heights. Approx 10 stiles, some of which are steep.

 

Medium walk / moderate. 9.5 miles, 1100ft ascent Leader: Brian

Circular from Conwy via Gyffin, Bryn Gwylan, Bryn Dowsi, Hendre, Crow's Nest Farm, North Wales Path, Morfa, The Beacons, Marina.

 

Short walk / easy. 6 miles Leader: Geoff

Circular from Conwy via Mount Pleasant, Castell Caer, Seion Iron Age Fort, lower path below Conwy Mountain to Coed Ffridd. 

 

Coach will leave Conwy at 6.00 p.m.

The ground may be muddy so please wear suitable footwear. Please bring a change of shoes, boot covers or something to clean your boots before getting back on the coach.

The first pick up point for the coach is the bus stop outside the entrance to the Longfield Centre on Bury New Road. For those joining in the city centre, the coach will stop on Chorlton Street, opposite the coach station, on the pavement side of the Britannia Hotel.
