Coppet Hill, The River Wye and Goodrich

A short ascent up Coppet Hill by way of the "Snakes & Ladders Path" takes us onto the ridge with fine views (weather permitting) from the Black Mountains to the Malvern Hills and much between. We follow the ridge before descending gradually through woodland to meet the river Wye opposite Coldwell Rocks (where peregrine falcons have bred successfully for many years). We follow the river downstream, passing Yat Rock, and then on the wooded lower slopes of Coppet Hill, with a chance of seeing fallow deer. Returning to Goodrich via the church for our lunch stop and a short walk back to the car park.
