Overview

This is a lovely circular walk among the foothills of Culter Fell, providing great views without much climbing. We walk from Culter village along Culter Water past Nisbet and Snape farms. The walk takes us up a valley between a number of steep sided hills including Cow Castle site of an Iron Age Fort. Just after the ruins o Kilbucho church we climb up Mitchell Hill to the Mitchell rings, another ancient hill fort in dramatic settings. We continue an exhilerating ridge walk over Mitchell Hill and White Hill before descending and rejoining the footpath to return to startpoint.
