Overview

A lovely circular walk in a popular glen in Peebles with wonderful views out across to Hundleshope Heights as we explore this quiet valley.

From Kingsmeadows car park we’ll be walking along the River Tweed on the new Tweed Trail, a shared-use path from Priorsford Bridge through Whitestone Park to the A72. We will then cross the main road and get a great view of Peebles Hydro Hotel.

Walking along Soonhope Burn on the east side of the glen we’ll see some chalets which were mainly built post-war by ex-servicemen and their families. Most of the tracks are well maintained, there is only a short, steep track through a forestry felling area where trees have recently been cut down.

The walk then continues past Whitfold Hill and below Venlaw Hill before returning to the car park.
