Cromford coach trip long walk - The walk starts from the car park of the National Stone Centre which is a short coach ride south of Cromford. The High Peak Trail runs past the Centre, and we follow this to Black Rocks where there are great views over Cromford and the surrounding countryside. We cross Cromford Moor before rejoining the High Peak Trail for a short distance before turning off along the Midshires Way. We follow the Midshires Way for a couple of miles to Whatstandwell where we climb, passing through Crich Carr to Crich, where we pass the National Tramway Museum. From here it is a short walk to Crich Stand which is the high point of the walk and the war memorial for the Sherwood Foresters Regiment. There are stunning views in all directions from here. It’s downhill all the way now, passing through Wakebridge and Holloway on the way to join the Cromford Canal which we follow for about 1.5 miles to the end of our walk at the Wharf in Cromford.
