Overview

An easy 5 mile amble with no stiles. The route is west from the Hall, passing the cafés and shops, into the grounds of Wilder Doddington towards Harby. The return is along the cycle track, through the Old Wood, turning south on to the permissive track back to Doddington.  Although flat, the route gives open views across Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire.
Queen Eleanor, wife of Edward I, died at Harby in 1290. The Eleanor crosses marked the progress of her cortège from Harby to Charing Cross.
