A two mile stretch along the Crumlin Arm of the Monmouthshire canal loosens the limbs before a climb of just over 1,000 feet to skirt the base of Twmbarlwm, following the Ravens walk track, with excellent views at our lunch stop. We then make our way via a rough track to Cwrt Henllys, skirting the Solar farm and then arround the Pant-yr-Eos reservoir. We then enter Craig-yr-Merchant woodland and finish with an uphill walk through the woods back to the car park.
Although i have graded this strenuous due to the long up hill stretches it is well capable of most of our members, so don't be put off.
