We are the Calderdale Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
A lovely undulating walk taking in woods, moors, farmland and spectacular views over Scammonden reservoir.
This is a very attractive route at the start of spring so look out for early signs that winter is over in the sights, sounds and smells of Calderdale. As ever, a reminder that Calderdale can be a bit wet underfoot so waterproof clothing and boots are stongly recommended. Enjoy a packed lunch in good company and beautiful surroundings.
Rishworth nearby has several pubs and cafes for post-walk refreshments.
Well-behaved dogs on a lead please as we may encounter early lambs and ground-nesting birds. Be aware there are some stiles.
Take the A672 Oldham road - the carpark is to the right immediately you pass the reservoir. **Unfortunately Yorkshire Water have now closed this CP permanently, so parking is now available in laybys close by or outside the nearby public house. Due to this, carsharing might be a consideration. Meeting point remains unchanged.
