Overview

The first half of this walk (to the edge of Bramley) is flat, including a short length of towpath beside the River Wey before joining disused railway lines either owned by the National Trust ("the railway path") or converted into public rights of way ("the Wey-South path"); the second half includes the ascent to the tower - a folly - on Chinthurst Hill where we will take an extra stop for a well-earned rest before descending towards Lower Chinthust Farm and back to Shalford.  All will be taken at a suitably gentle pace.
