Overview

We will follow the rough track of Walna Scar Road and then the path along ridge to Dow Crag. There is a second 500 foot climb to the Old Man of Coniston. The paths are typical Lake District fell paths, relatively steep but not difficult.

There is the mildest of scrambling over the rocks near the top of Dow Crag, but not exposed.   Excellent mountain scenery.
